Re: switching from PT to Cubase

Hi Michael, I must stay, after spending nearly a month with the cubase session here and there, I still find myself shouting at the screen way more than I'd like to. I'm sure I'd be able to get used to most of it eventually, but I'd need more time, but my trial is over in a few days and I won't be i...

If I were doing it again I'd go with a 40" screen.
I totally agree with you. I think that 40" is the perfect size.
You know, when I was preparing to get my 46" inch screen I recall that you recommended going with a 40" one.. I should have listened to you! :D

Re: 42 or 46 inch screen with PQ labs for Dtouch

I have both 46" PQ Labs and 27" Acer touchscreens, IMO there are pluses and minuses to both.. 1) is it responsive as the dedicated touch screen I already have ? Will it have the same functions in windows 10 and d touch providing it is the correct overlay ? Yes, it will have the same functions in Win...

Re: switching from PT to Cubase

Hi ufo, just curious how things are going with your transition? Have you found a workflow in Cubase that works for you? Aside of the routing and other Cubase interface issues you were having, I'm curious about how you feel the Cubase DTouch/touchscreen workflow compares to PT and DTouch? I've been w...

You can use an universal active stylus. It is very accurate. OK! Tell us more about this "active stylus". I am interested, in particular for fine "drawings" in the MIDI editors. Silvano, you should try out a Wacom Cintiq tablet.. They have the best pen/stylus input and configurable buttons for shor...

Re: switching from PT to Cubase

Because Pro Tools has been plaguing me with bugs and CPU errors ever since PT11 was released. Granted, PT11 was a complete rebuild/redesign of the thing from the ground up, so some growing pains were to be expected. But that was four years ago. I'm PT9-10 I used to record whole bands live together ...

Re: switching from PT to Cubase

Out of curiosity, why are you switching from PT to Cubase? I ask because I've thought many times about going the other way (Cubase/Nuendo to PT for mixing). It's mainly Avid's pricing/licensing policies that have kept me away. I also nice that Steinberg has a remote protocol that lets third party de...

Re: switching from PT to Cubase

That's really cool, thanks a lot for testing that! I'll try workspaces in Cubase, bus it sounds like it'll indeed be a solution for me. DTouch doesn't actually support it with Pro Tools either. But since my mix and edit windows don't actually change in size, nor do the width of the 'zones' but it o...

Re: switching from PT to Cubase

Thanks, I think it's a nice workflow to replicate in Cubase, if it cant do it on it's own, maybe DTouch can step in to help. It doesn't need to be triggered by a marker of course, a key command is fine, that's how I launch it. To me, it only makes sense that if you recall the drum visibility setup,...
